Job Scope:

To engineer and support the corporate IT infrastructure for 24x7 information and services.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Specific Duties (80%)

1. Architect, refine and implement corporate LAN/WAN infrastructure strategies, including network and electronic security implements, and enterprise data and voice messaging and collaboration infrastructure.

2. Manage the corporate LAN/WAN infrastructure strategies, including network and electronic security implements, and enterprise data and voice messaging and collaboration infrastructure to ensure 24x7 availability.

3. Troubleshoot infrastructural failures and provide solutions to resolve such failure on both an immediate and longer term basis, in the shortest possible duration.

4. Assess and review existing IT infrastructure for potential weaknesses and propose and implement solution or mitigation actions.

5. Monitor and trend network and system utilization and apply the information gleaned towards improving infrastructure availability, resilience and security.

6. Define system and network access policies and manage user base

General Duties (20%)

1. Provide second level support to IT helpdesk function within the department on a 24x7 basis.

2. Document the infrastructure design and deployment, as implementations and refinements are made.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 2 to 3 yrs of experience in managing a corporate IT or related environment. Specific Cisco networking and Microsoft system engineer/administrator certification is an advantage.
   
   

2. Technical knowledge/skills in IP networking and architecting corporate LAN/WAN for ease of management, administration, security and segregation. A strong technical skill in implementing network equipment such as L2/L3 switches, routers and network security devices is an advantage.
   
   

3. Technical knowledge/skills in corporate backend server systems that provide messaging and collaboration facilities and a good perspective on support ASP applications within an internal customer base environment. Knowledge of Microsoft based server software components, such as Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server, IIS etc. and good understanding of server-client applications such as Citrix or Terminal Services is an advantage.
   
   

4. Working knowledge of information security requirements and how these requirements are implemented in the various networking and system backend equipment and applications.
   
   

5. Ability to communicate and have good inter-personal skills with all levels of employees and is able to explain complex IT details in terms that are easily understood by non-technical users.

6. Have a good working knowledge of project management and fundamental data and statistical analysis skills
